Artfluence Bragalicious Collectors

As artists, we put a lot of energy into the experimentation of art, and rightly so. It's the magic, the sweet sauce that makes our lives delicious. Artists feel this energy as it ebbs and flows from our emotions to the paper or canvas. Some of our work is shared with viewers and collectors. There is nothing better for an artist than the smile of the collector who sees the value in the efforts of creation.

When the artwork settles into its 'forever' home, it fits into the collector's surroundings and aesthetic. The colors, textures, and architectural elements already present can visually affect the overall feeling of how well the new art enhances the space.

We'd love to share the stories of our valued COLLECTORS. Those art enthusiasts who know the pride of ownership. It has been said that 'Collectors often view their possessions as extensions of themselves, a concept known as the "extended self," where each piece reflects personal values, tastes, and identity.' Studies back this up. Collecting art is linked to how people identify themselves. It brings them into a community of people who also enjoy the same content. Art can educate us, comfort us, and hold our own personal meaning.

Unlike collecting stamps, coins, or other similar items, there is an additional EMOTIONAL element added when someone collects art. Some people buy art as an investment, but more often than not, they buy because the art makes them FEEL something. A memory of a loved one, a recollection of a simpler time, a color or burst of light that reminds them of the calming nature trail they long to return to.

Are YOU an art collector? We'd love for you to tell us your story. Put your reasons for collecting art in the comments. Or tell us the WHY of your collection. Any photos that show off your collection? How do you display and share the art you have collected? Do you have a few isolated images on a wall, or have you progressed to a full-blown gallery wall? Tell us the history of that piece that is the core of your collection - that WOW piece that always garnishes conversation from your visitors.

If you are the artist, reach out to your collectors and see if they can add content to this blog post. Or tell us your story of those collectors that keep coming back to you for 'just one more.'

Thanks again for being part of Artfluence. Lets brag about the art we love!
